Investment chief executive said in tourism
projects at RD reaffirms confidence
PUNTA CANA.-
El presidente Leonel Fernández aseguró que
la inversión de 5 mil 200 millones de
dólares en la construcción de proyectos
turísticos en tan solo un mes es motivo de
reafirmar la confianza que hay en el futuro
de la República Dominicana.

The President Leonel Fernández said that the
investment of 5 billion to $ 200 million in
construction of tourism projects in just one
month is reason to reaffirm that there is
confidence in the future of the Dominican
Republic.
El mandatario habló en el inicio de los
trabajos de construcción del proyecto
turístico inmobiliario Vista Cana Resort &
Country Club, en Punta Cana, provincia La
Altagracia, región Este, cuya inversión se
estima en 1,400 millones de dólares, el cual
generará más de 20 mil empleos cuando haya
concluido.
The president spoke at the start of
construction work in the real estate tourism
project Vista Cana Resort & Country Club in
Punta Cana, La Altagracia province, eastern,
whose investment is estimated at 1400
million dollars, which will generate more
than 20 thousand Jobs once.
La primera etapa del proyecto está previsto
terminar en diciembre del 2010.
The first phase of the project is planned
for completion in December 2010.
El Jefe de Estado, quien dio el primer
picazo para la construcción de la obra, dijo
que esta nueva inversión junto a la de 1,200
millones de dólares que comenzó con la
construcción de Playa Nueva Romana” en San
pedro de Macorís a final de noviembre,
además de la que se hará antes de que
concluya este año en el proyecto turístico
Punta Perla en Samaná de 2,600 millones de
dólares demuestra que el desarrollo
turístico del país es verdaderamente
encomiable.
The Head of State, who took the first Picazo
for the construction of the facility, said
that this new investment along with that of

príncipe Alberto de Mónaco a la ceremonia de

El presidente Fernández afirmó que pese a
que se vaticina que el 2009 será un año
difícil y complicado en el contexto de la
economía global, su gobierno no descansará
de promover la inversión tanto extranjera
como local.

que generen empleos.
He said that this will contribute at the
domestic level to a more dynamic and
accelerating growth of the economy, based on
development of infrastructure projects that
generate jobs.
El proyecto Vista Cana el cual es de capital
venezolano contempla la construcción de 6
mil unidades de viviendas y un hotel de
negocios de 100 habitaciones.
The project Vista Cana which is the
Venezuelan capital for the construction of 6
thousand housing units and a business hotel
of 100 rooms.
El 30 por ciento de las inversiones
inmobiliarias o de apartamentos ha sido
adquirida por los denominados Baby Bumers
(generación de pensionados estadounidenses).
30 percent of investment property or

Fernández felicitó a los promotores del
proyecto Vista Cana por esta innovadora
inversión en el país.

venezolanos vengan al país a hacer una
inversión de esta magnitud (1,400 mm de
pesos), al tiempo que valoró los lazos de
fraternidad que une a la República

en que Juan Pablo Duarte permaneció en ese
territorio.
The president praised a group of Venezuelans

El doctor Leonel Fernández informó que este

Domingo-Samaná, vía que promoverá el sector
turístico, y adelantó que fue sometido al
congreso nacional para fines de aprobación
la realización del proyecto del boulevard
del Atlántico Norte.

other works to be built in the Eastern

be completed by the motorway from the east,
which in his opinion further boost tourism
development in the eastern and its link with
the capital.

bendijo la obra.

En la actividad, estuvieron presentes los
secretarios de Turismo, Francisco Javier
García y de Obras Públicas, Víctor Díaz Rúa,
además, los ejecutivos del proyecto,
encabezados por el presidente del consejo de
administradores, Salvador Termini, el
gobernador de la provincia La Altagracia,
Luís Rafael Cedeño Castillo, Amable Aristy
Castro, secretario general de la Liga
Municipal Dominicana y su hija Carina,
síndica de Higuey.
